  The Ninth Wave

  Ren will take part in a premier production with Voice of Iris. 

  Voice of Iris presents The Ninth Wave, a new opera by Laura Nevitt, inspired by an ancient modern love story and told through a queer lens.

  The Ninth Wave is a new opera composed by Laura Nevitt with libretto by co-founder Cailin Smith. This tale is inspired by an ancient Irish mythological love story, told in modern language through a queer lens. Featuring 10 treble singers, this their our biggest project to date.

  What happens when the goddess of love and beauty longs for something with more depth? How do the gods and mortals interact? The Ninth Wave is a timely retelling of this myth with themes of finding identity, violence and displacement, and searching for peace in another person.
